Ligne de coupe à longueur
A cut-to-length line is a specialized industrial processing system used to unwind, level, measure, and cut metal coils into flat sheets of precise lengths. It is widely applied in the steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal-processing industries, where accuracy, efficiency, and surface quality are essential. The main purpose of a cut-to-length line is to convert coiled material into sheet products that meet exact dimensional requirements for downstream manufacturing, fabrication, or direct shipment. The line usually begins with a coil loading device or coil car, which positions the coil onto an uncoiler. The uncoiler holds and rotates the coil as the material is fed forward. In many systems, a peeler table or guide entry section helps lead the strip smoothly into the next processing stage. Because metal coils often have curvature, internal stresses, or uneven flatness, the material typically passes through a leveling machine. This machine removes coil set and improves flatness, ensuring that the final sheets are suitable for high-quality applications. After leveling, the strip enters a measuring and feeding section. This part of the line accurately controls the material length using servo-driven rollers or a precision feed system. The line then cuts the sheet to the required length by means of a flying shear, rotary shear, or stop shear, depending on the production speed and material characteristics. Each cut is made according to preset program parameters, allowing the line to produce sheets of consistent size with minimal tolerance deviation.A modern cut-to-length line often includes an automatic stacking system at the discharge end. Once the sheets are cut, they are conveyed to a stacking table where they are aligned, counted, and stacked neatly for packaging or further processing. Some lines also include edge trimming, scrap collection, film coating removal, inspection devices, and surface protection systems to meet different production needs.Cut-to-length lines can be designed for light-gauge or heavy-gauge materials, and they may process various widths, thicknesses, and coil weights. The line configuration depends on the type of metal, required output speed, accuracy level, and production volume. Advanced control systems, usually based on PLC and touchscreen interfaces, allow operators to set sheet length, quantity, speed, and other parameters quickly and reliably. Automatic diagnostics and safety protections are also important features that help reduce downtime and improve operational stability. The advantages of a cut-to-length line include high productivity, precise dimensional control, better material utilization, and reduced manual handling. By automating the conversion from coil to sheet, it improves efficiency and consistency while lowering labor costs and scrap generation. For industries that demand exact sheet sizes and reliable throughput, a cut-to-length line is an essential piece of equipment that supports modern metal fabrication and manufacturing operations.
